Second Global Evaluation Forum – Kathmandu, Nepal, 2015
The second Global Evaluation Forum marked a major milestone for the EvalPartners family.
The EvalYear Torch, that was lit at the UN building in New York in December 2014, and that travelled across 28 countries, ended at Nepal for the Global Evaluation Forum and the culminating of the International Year of Evaluation.
The Forum was attended by VOPE leaders, parliamentarians, government officials, UN agencies, international organizations and donors and were held from 23-25 November 2015.
The most significant outcome of the second forum was the Launch of Global Evaluation Agenda 2016-2020 (EvalAgenda).
The main EvalYear ceremony was held in the Parliament of Nepal to strengthen an enabling environment for evaluation, by promoting the engagement of policymakers in evaluation and the use of evidence from evaluation in policymaking. It took place on Wednesday, 25 November with more than 400 people.
Further to the launch of EvalAgenda, the second EvalPartners global forum saw the launch of the three networks: the Global Parliamentarian Forum for Evaluation, EvalGender+, the global partnership for equity-focussed and gender-responsive evaluations, and the launch of EvalYouth, the global partnership for young & emerging evaluators.
